INTERMAT : the world’s leading event for construction professionals in 2009!

INTERMAT, the International Exhibition of Equipment and Techniques for Public Works, Construction and the Materials Industry, will be held between 20 and 25 April, from 9 am to 6 pm, at the Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte: a unique opportunity to keep abreast of the latest products, services and industry developments to help you prepare for the future.

 

The show will feature more than 1,450 international exhibitors, 170,000 sq.m. of exhibition of surface area, 200,000 visitors from around the world, and numerous events.

 

 

  • Paris Démo: a 10,000 sq.m. outdoor area offering live, full-scale machinery demonstrations.

The Foire de Paris will be opening its gates from 30 April to 10 May 2009, with the theme of “encounters”.

On the agenda: encounters with people from diverse horizons, different cultures, all-new products, innovative solutions, and above all dancing encounters, with theme-based balls and free dancing lessons including salsa, rock’n’roll, the waltz and line dancing.

In the Home section, the Foire is brimming with creative flair, with a roundup of the kitchens of tomorrow, thanks to the projects put forward by some twenty students from highly reputed design schools; the Innovation award and its previews of nifty domestic appliances; not forgetting free consultations with the Order of Architects in the Paris region, and for home makeovers, with the interior design coaching team from the French TV programme Intérieurs.

In the Free Time section, the Foire de Paris invites its visitors to check out and yield to the temptation of all the latest new products from the relaxation and well-being sector, crafty products and new digital devices.

Lastly, in the World Culture section, aside from the Tropiques en fête festival and its 50 free concerts, the Australian pavilion putting on tasting sessions of Aboriginal specialities to the sound of the didgeridoo, or the Uruguayan pavilion and its arts and crafts using ostrich eggs and amethysts, the French amateur cooking federation also has an attention-grabbing stand with Chefs and workshops, games and lessons, taking on the task of tickling the taste buds of the 670,000 visitors expected this year!

Works councils are celebrating spring!


From March to April 2009, Paris and 14 French cities will be playing host to SalonsCE.


This gathering of Works Councils and their suppliers is more than a trade fair: it’s an opportunity for meetings, sharing, events, discovery and tasting sessions.

A new Managing Director for Comexposium

 

In agreement with the Board of Directors and having seen through the merger of Comexpo (a former subsidiary of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CCIP) and Exposium (a former subsidiary of Unibail Rodamco) since 1 February 2008, Dominique Bernard resigned from his position as Managing Director of Comexposium on 16 January 2009.

 

To succeed him, the Board of Directors has appointed Bernard Becker to the position of Managing Director of Comexposium. Aged 57, he previously held the position of Chairman and Managing Director of Tarsus France, having spent his entire career working in the organisation of trade fairs. High points in his career have included the founding in 1974 of the Salon de la Musique, a stint as Managing Director of Blenheim France from 1988 to 1994, then Chairman of Reed Expositions Europe until 1998.

 

 

It’s international agriculture week in Paris!

SIA and SIMA, the two biggest shows in the agricultural sector, are being held simultaneously from 21 February to 1 March 2009, complementing one another into the bargain.
International Agriculture Week.  Running from 21 February to 1 March 2009, this is a major first and the culmination of a synergic relationship made possible purely by Comexpo and Exposium joining forces.
 
Trade visitors are provided with free shuttles between the two exhibition centres, motorcycle taxis and Welcome Desks are based at each show. 

This time around, the spotlight falls on innovative and high-performance agriculture, highlighted through the themes addressed, which include:
- employment in the sector, training opportunities
- environmental protection, sustainable development
- international prospects 
- links between agriculture and the food industry and non-food outlets

Overall around 800,000 people come along to visit these two major events!

SIMA 2009

The Paris International Agri-business show, reserved for the trade - 22 to 26 February 2009 - Parc des expositions, Paris Nord Villepinte.

SIMA plays host to 1,350 exhibitors (of whom 50% of these exhibitors from abroad), 213,761 visits with 25% of international visitors from 107 different countries! With a few months to go until the doors open, 95% of the exhibition space has already been booked and most sectors are fully booked!
New on the menu for 2009:

- SIMA is taking over Hall 7 and earmarking it to renewable energies for the rural sector.
- SIMA Workshops: a programme of themed bilingual (French-English) workshops to tackle the practical issues faced by farmers and breeders.
- SIMA TV WEB: a full programme of daily shows featuring reports and interviews with organisations, international visitors and exhibitors, broadcast throughout the exhibition, with a TV studio on site! 
- Gold Meetings: these business meetings are the ideal way for visitors to meet up with exhibitors in a VIP area to discuss a specific investment project.

SIMA is also highlighting a host of developments in high-potential countries such as Russia, Brazil and Ukraine and all-new themed activities including a French day at Agrosalon – a Russian partner exhibition – a Russian day at SIMA, the Agri Manager Tour, a 2-day business and leisure programme aimed at international buyers, plus a historic record – 154 entries registered for the Innovation Awards!

SIA 2009

Salon International de l’Agriculture - 21 February to 1 March 2009 - Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

SIA plays host to more than 1,000 exhibitors, representing 17 countries, 22 regions, 700 producers from France and all over the world, 1,000 farmers … and 604,000 visitors!
